Pros
None that I can think of
Cons
Not informed at any stage of working location, just told on first day to head to a different office with no explanation given, turn up at other location and told it’s my office location. Work that was given not applicable to job description. Virtually no work during the time at Quest. Repeatedly asked every day for assignments and meetings to understand what the work plan was, refused meetings or provided with menial tasks. Soul destroying atmosphere to work in, day in day out no work or training. Other Quest colleagues attitude was unhelpful and unwilling to help train new staff. I can even quote one staff member saying he didn’t wish to waste his time as the previous person he trained up left. Zero training or induction. Was illegally not provided with any health and safety induction or fire safety induction, not shown the means of escape from the building etc. Never provided with a security badge for site. Made to feel like a prisoner unable to even go out for lunch from the building. Virtually little or no communication from management at a time when you’d expect some support for new staff. HR impossible to contact. Confusion around role was apparent in other areas of the business with other new starters, not just me. Failure to acknowledge resignation in timely manner, took 3 days for any response. Don’t pay you the corrrect salary when you leave. Don’t think I didn’t notice the underpayment! :) Managements general attitude was ‘I’m too busy’. Which was an excuse for poor time management. Lack of experienced managers. Advertised and contracted working hours did not meet customers expectation. Overall QuEST is all talk and no substance. It seems it’s all about hiring as many people as possible for jobs that don’t exist. To be honest you might as well have rounded us all up at the bus stop because anyone can sit there day in day out doing nothing.
