Pros
At Regeneron, people truly come first. Every shift begins with a safety debrief, and safety walks are conducted continuously, 24/7, across all areas by people at all levels in the organisation. A phrase you'll hear repeated time and again is "we want to make your time spent on site the safest part of your day". This isn’t just a slogan; it’s a reality achieved through constant vigilance and swift, proactive action wherever it’s needed. The commitment to safety is deeply embedded in the culture, creating a workplace where everyone looks out for each other (a state of interdependence) and where risks are addressed immediately and thoroughly. What impressed me most about Regeneron is its unwavering commitment to patients. Every decision—whether related to operations, strategy, or resource allocation—starts and ends with the patient in mind. Unlike many companies where profits and sales dominate the conversation, at Regeneron, financials often feel like an afterthought. The focus is always on doing the right thing, with an exceptional level of diligence, care, and integrity. It’s clear that patient impact drives every action, and that deep sense of purpose is reflected across the entire organisation. You'll hear stories and witness testimonials from patients and families whose lives have been changed in the most profound ways through the medicines they receive from the collective efforts of everyone at the company. Another factor that sets Regeneron apart is the way it looks after its people—better than any company I’ve ever encountered, with absolutely no exceptions. From day one, I felt genuinely supported, seen, and valued—not just as an employee, but as a person. They have a huge focus on DE&I going as far as to schedule events for Diwali, Ramadan, etc. to cater for their very diverse employee base. They have a comprehensive rewards programme open to everyone (as both giver and receiver) and all are encouraged to use it. They also put on regular no-expense-spared parties for all employees (e.g. family days, BBQ's, 'A day at the races', or hands-down, the best company Christmas parties in Ireland). Beyond the work itself, Regeneron invests in its people as whole individuals. You’re encouraged to step away from the day-to-day and participate in clubs, societies, social and charitable events, and more (Google "Regeneron Day for Doing Good" and you'll be blown away with all the events over the years). It’s a workplace that believes in balance, connection, and giving back. They also have a huge focus on sustainability, being a zero-waste to landfill site and investing in renewable energy infrastructure. The leadership at all levels is nothing short of exceptional. From the Senior VP of the QC organisation—who somehow knows every one of his 300+ staff in Limerick (and hundreds more in the U.S.) by first name and makes time for them, even on an individual level—to the Senior Executive Director (possibly now VP?), whose intelligence, insight, and foresight make her an extraordinary leader. She consistently anticipates challenges and presents thoughtful, strategic solutions—always at least one step ahead :) Unlike other companies where the Senior leadership team is inaccessible by people lower down in the organisation, at Regeneron, the proverbial door of every senior leaders office is always open. Employees are kept informed right from the very top of the organisation through regular All-hands meetings by senior leadership and business update meetings by the company CEO's, and are invited to ask questions and to engage in feedback. I was especially fortunate to report to two incredible Directors during my nearly five years at Regeneron. They treated me like family and supported me through some significant life events with empathy, integrity, and kindness. Two absolute gentlemen and inspiring, people-focused leaders that I am grateful to have known and worked with. The team of co-managers function as a cohesive unit, always ready to support one another—no matter the challenge or whether the issue fell within their direct area of responsibility—amazing team-work, always looking out for one another! And the supervisors and leads on the floor? Their leadership skills rival (and in many cases exceed) those found at managerial level in other companies. The team dynamic is incredibly strong. No one is left to face challenges alone. Whether dealing with complex problems or day-to-day hurdles, collaboration is the default, not the exception. There’s zero tolerance for toxicity—just a shared sense of purpose, camaraderie, and collective drive toward common goals. Operational excellence is a value lived by each staff member at all levels every day. The organisation is consistently open to innovation, welcoming new ideas and encouraging continuous improvement. This creates an environment where creative, forward-thinking individuals can truly thrive and make a lasting impact. Career development at Regeneron is phenomenal. Whether you want to grow within your current function or explore lateral moves into new areas, the opportunities are abundant—and so is the support. Mentorship, leadership, training, encouragement, positions and career paths to aim for, and the required resources are all readily available to those who are eager to grow. There are structured learning and development courses available to all, and support for further education is also possible. All of this might naturally raise the question: If it was so great, why did I leave? The answer is simple—I made the very difficult decision to step away in order to focus on personal and family matters. It wasn’t an easy choice, and I still think fondly of the incredible team I was privileged to work with. But it was the right decision for me at that time, and I carry nothing but deep gratitude for my time at Regeneron.
Cons
Honestly, based on my experience, I cannot point to any meaningful criticisms. Regeneron is a high-performing, patient-focused, people-first organisation that sets a very high bar. That said, the culture does expect accountability, resilience, and a strong work ethic—which I personally valued. Perhaps for some other reviewers who may have filled this "Cons" section with comments, Regeneron just might not have been the right fit for them. In my view, those who struggle in this environment may simply not be aligned with Regeneron’s standards, and sometimes that misalignment is mistaken for a flaw in the company itself.
