Pros

The discount is the one only good thing about working for ross stores although your low income doesn't help you buy anything

Cons

Corporate blames employees on internal theft and literally ignores the real thieves who walk out the door waving merch in your face. The assistant manager uses favoritism and gives people 4 hours per week. The managers dont help the associates with work or care about them. You are threatened of getting fired if you don't force customers out of line to your register fast enough. Customers threaten you and there is no real security. If the corporate does call in security it only lasts a few days with temporary armed guard. When you are in the fitting room customers get mad when you force them to hang their clothes on the T stand which is pointless and does not prevent theft.

Pros

All of my coworkers were wonderful. No high school drama. Boss was flexible and understanding, although he always liked it if you said you could work more hours. The employee discount is pretty awesome. The work wasn't bad and rude customers were rare.

Cons

There was pressure to come in even when you were sick. Pay wasn't the greatest; it usually stayed ahead of minimum wage, but by no means kept up with inflation. Visits from corporate often meant a new change in procedures that had been working and demands that were somewhat unreasonable given the constraints of the layout or number of employees available.
