Pros

Free food, vendor contests that give you free money sometimes, friendly coworkers, decent training, middle management kind of cares I guess?

Cons

Where to begin lol? This place is a joke of a business and let me explain why: -IT Infrastructure is garbage. They use software that works like its made in the 2000s. This is a tech company yet they arent using top of the line stuff. The software makes placing orders extremely time consuming, taking away from time making more sales. -No real business plan in place. Your job as a sales person here is to cold call a list of businesses that have been called weekly for the last 3-5 years and pitch them overpriced Dells, HPs, etc. The business model is obviously awful and when they say they are an "8.5 billion dollar company", you know that money cant be coming from cold calling small businesses that dont want anything to do with you... -Favoritism to the max. "Likeable" employees get buying accounts that take no effort to sell to while the employees who arent favorites are getting "accounts" that you cant make money off. -Random team and pay changes for absolutely no reason. Teams get changed and commission structure keeps getting changed every few months for no good business reasons. -Pay is abysmal. $30k isnt worth slaving away to hope to get 40-50k the following year and then maybe another slight bonus the year after that. And there is no way to make good money if your not in sales since the other positions pay even less, which is a joke since a promotion is supposed to increase pay, not decrease. -Metrics are easy to manipulate yet management loves them. I had a coworker who used to pad their meetings and talk time, and when they found out she wasnt fired. The politics here make it too easy for scummy people to get ahead of the people who care about doing a good job. I left working at SHI for half a year since you dont really do a whole lot of working here. You sit around calling people that wont give you business since its a part of working your way up the corporate latter. You get new accounts as time goes on, but none of it has anything to do with how good of a sales person you are or how hard you work. Its all about who your sucking up to and who you become drinking buddies with.

Pros

Great place to work for especially for those in information technology looking to learn more from software and hardware vendors. The meet and greets + lunch and learns help you learn more about the products and services they provide.

Cons

None, I’ve had a positive experience with them!

Pros

Work from home, paid for career development trainings/certifications, and depending on your role, flexible hours

Cons

-Management/Senior Leadership teams are very disorganized and often change processes several times throughout the year, without consulting the teams that would be impacted -Tools are extremely outdated -What mattered to senior leadership was the velocity of closing projects, vs quality of delivery -Extremely valid criticism was often ignored -Very difficult to get promoted -SHI loves automating everything they can, so a lot of times, work ends up feeling very tedious and repetitive -Day to day work very often includes tedious process approvals from management, slowing down pace of work with no real feedback given during the approval process -Met a lot of people who were great, but met far more who are toxic -Everything feels escalated even if the “issue” is manageable -EXTREMELY micromanaged
