Not the worst, but far from the best. - Customer Service Representative Safelite AutoGlass Employee Review

Pros

The pay isn't bad. The break room has some good snacks and drinks. Quarterly bonuses. Flexible hours. Depending on the time of year there are lots of opportunities to either pick up extra hours when it is busy, or maybe go home early if it's slow. If you are maybe a student, or retired and just looking for something easy to do on the side to make some extra money, I would recommend this place to you. If you are looking for a long term job with opportunity for growth, go elsewhere. I don't know if everyone would consider this a pro, but I sure did. Due to the high turnover rate, you will meet some very interesting people during your time at Safelite. Some you'll love, some you'll hate, but it certainly isn't boring.

Cons

Communication between everyone (different departments, employee to coach, supervisor to floor manager, etc) is just deplorable here. You will get lots of information from people that conflicts what others may have told you. If you bring up the discrepancies, you will just be told to "trust the system". Mandatory annual "town hall" meetings where that special somebody comes over from Ohio and berates everyone for 90 minutes. The last 30 minutes of the meeting are usually reserved for employees to ask him questions. He has a really remarkable way of making you feel completely insignificant and replaceable. Depending on the time of year it can be extremely busy. Sometimes there can be 100+ customers in queue who have been waiting on hold for over 30 mins. This tends to yield a lot of upset customers, which makes meeting certain KPI/"stats" consistently through the entire year difficult. The direct supervisors/"coaches" are very clique-y, and it is very clear some flagrantly play favorites. Not to discredit all of them, there are a few I really liked. Difficult to get a full time schedule. No paid time off or benefits for part-time employees. During the busy season there are more employees than there are seats, which is awkward.

Pros

Working hours, easy to learn, great environment.

Cons

The 1 minute late, rule. If you’re ONE minute late from break, lunch, or even clocking in.. it counts toward your “infractions”. You can only get 3 for the first 60 days. Even if your wifi goes out, you get sick.. anything. It counts.

Pros

The fact that they will teach you and train you to install Auto Glass? Cannot answer this truthfully

Cons

I've applied twice to the tech training position. The first time I thought that I may have made an error? The Yellow Brick Rd location had adds for 18 positions available. I applied again fixing what I thought the issue to be. I was again sent an email that they were not moving to the next step with me. This makes ZERO sense. I was just recently a slot tech out of Horseshoe. I also was a tech for a company that handed a few interior pieces for Amtrak.
