Pros
Some good people, prime location in Manhattan.
Cons
It all began with the departure of our former global CEO, Mr. Waugh. The new management took the reigns and turned the place into a disorganized, chaotic organization. People in executive leadership roles come and go, layoffs became a permanent state of life, wave after wave, including people who have devoted their lives to BNS and spent 20-30 years there(!). Changing priorities. Favoritism. To make a career there, you need to learn navigate the "underground" currents and be on time to dump those managers who are no longer in favor, and befriend those who are still standing strong. Very sad... The pay is WAY below competition, trust me! In fact, employees leave on their own and ... head to competitors. Scotiabank used to be a solid, respectable bank on the Street. Not any longer. If you are considering employment - go elsewhere.
