Pros

Good benefits. Unlimited holiday, flexible working.

Cons

It’s a bit of a sh**show. It’s a start up that has been around for 6+ years that feels like it was started a year ago. The ideas are good I guess but the execution is poor. There is a lot of talk of automation and making smooth processes but that is not really the case. There is a constant mass exodus of people and it’s helpful to note that the company actively asks people to write glassdoor reviews. There could be better management of resources to ensure the things that are in place are as effective as possible. It’s an organisation that is very much still trying to find its feet but there is a lot of work to be done and with people constantly leaving it is difficult to make those improvements. Approach with caution.

Pros

Industry-Leading Flexibility: The trust at Shieldpay is a step ahead of almost any other firm I’ve seen. Management truly understands that life happens. Whether it’s school drop-offs, pickups, or last-minute childcare hurdles, they make it work. In a regulated environment, this level of autonomy is rare and incredibly valued. Empowerment: You are trusted to do your job where and when you want. There is no micromanagement regarding "bums in seats," which fosters a very mature working environment. Transparency: Leadership has made a genuine effort to be honest about the direction of the company and the state of the industry. I’ve read some of the recent comments here and, honestly, I feel they are a bit unfair. We are in an incredibly difficult economic climate right now—one where businesses much larger and more established than Shieldpay are struggling. It’s important to have some perspective. While no company is perfect, Shieldpay has tried to be honest with us. The flexibility here isn't just a perk; it’s a core part of the culture that management works hard to protect, even when things are tough.

Cons

Market Pressures: Like any company in this space right now, we aren't immune to the broader economic climate. This can lead to periods of high pressure and uncertainty as the business navigates external headwinds.
