Pros

I agree the people in the office are really nice. The senior management is great. The colleagues are nice. Some of the projects are interesting. They encourage to upskill and will support you. But it ends there

Cons

I do not know where to begin. It honestly baffles me when i receive the emails about all these awards Slalom have won like Best Place to Work, great work life balance etc. But it makes no sense to me because our holiday and PTO plan does not even meet industry standards. How can a company still make their employees accrue PTO? Where is the flat PTO plan where we can plan it accordingly? Lastly, it is shocking that our well earned PTO then impacts utilization which if you do not meet the 70% impacts your Bonus. The federal holidays are a joke. We do not get MLK, President’s Day, no Juneteenth, No Indigenous day. They literally compensate by giving 2 floating holidays. Our health plan is one of the worst. Yes we can get a lot of options but all the options are expensive and the company does not pay enough credit to match it. Our 401k match is weak. Promotion process is the most difficult I have ever seen. When I opted to join Slalom I was informed by the recruiter that with good performance you can get promoted. But to get to a Principal level, one has to be exceptional at delivery excellence, one has to write proposals and sell, generate revenue, be a good people leader, be known for a product. It doesn’t end here. It is so rigid that it is next to possible. Even worse is that after you truly prove yourself to be Principal. The raise is a joke. Salary raise year to year is hardly 4 percent well bellow the current inflation rates. With the recent layoffs ( first time apparently), the confidence in the organization has taken a big shock. The leadership really needs to review the culture. Instead of talk the talk, walk the walk. Because you say you are a fun organization but you do not even spend enough on the well being of employees. Its all a lie. And a FACADE

Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
