Pros
Not being unemployed I guess. Some people has good salaries (mid-top management) free food and benefits.
Cons
- Lot of inequality in salaries in my department. Been told they were really happy with me but not a single penny reflected that. New people doing the same job, with the same quality in the same time paid 1/3 more. Guess they wanted to kick out older employees and replace them with new blood. -Nobody knows where the company is going, really. Have had one hit wonder without even realizing how they did it and of course it's impossible for them to emulate this again. Last full released game was almost 2 years ago. -Some managers are just not real managers, just random people put in there. Not doing their job properly and causing chaos on the department. Ceos know and they don't care. -Lots of coaching and communication courses that are actually turning people into zombies. Teaching them things that are rather obvious (such as, in order to communicate you should be clear and concise) sometimes I feel I'm surrounded by 3 year old kids. Coach tells you to hold back everything and avoid critical thinking, which will result in: not improving anything ever and ulcers. They like cynical-happy guys not critical employees. 'Soft Skills' aka being sneaky, fake and have no problem in stepping over others are very important in order to become someone in the organization. It doesnt mind if you are actually capable and skillful, they would hire a monkey if it smiled enough. -No career plan. -Not all managers are bad, some of them are really good at it and it's a pleasure working with them, but even some of the bad ones recive bad feedback they will do nothing about them. -Talking with HR buddy it's almost humiliating. Even they recive feedback about some people in the departament performing bad they will do not do anything about it. They will give you generic responses about your complains or suggestions like you were a kid intead of a professional. -Prototype management is just retarded. Ceos will change their mind from one week to another. No road map. Their 'market studies' are actually looking intro the top grossing games at app store (lol) It's just like a joke.
