Pros

Great benefits (401k, health, dental, vision, paid time off).

Cons

Too numbers driven, becoming disconnected from its people and customers. New policies rolling out (including a "points system" for absences and tardiness). I agree this is needed, but it's kind of pathetic that I have to get something as simple as a stomach virus protected under FMLA (three consecutive absences not protected and you're up for termination). Some departments (soon to be all) are not allowed to look at, touch, be on, etc... their cell phones while sitting at their desks. Seriously, you have to walk away from the work area and into the break room to read a text message if needed (and only in the event of an emergency). If you're caught on your phone? You get "points" which can lead to termination.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
