1) The absence of a clear, cohesive vision and strategy for the company is creating confusion within the teams. Priorities and initiatives seem to change every other week. It feels like we're flailing about in an effort to please investors.
2) Directors and above seem to completely misunderstand the state of the tech stack and its limitations. There's a dire need for tech investment, but leaders want to focus almost entirely on new features.
3) High attrition rates and low morale among staff are drastically slowing the velocity of the teams, but leadership seems blind to that.
4) The lack of clearly defined product principals and ways of working was a complete surprise for me. Despite being a decade-old company, the product org feels largely unestablished.
