The compensation model could definitely be improved.
The person who wrote the review about the "culture of the fall guy" has it right. The atmosphere of gossip, rumors, and backstabbing is a huge drawback and very prevalent, e.g. long-term consultants who have been consistently praised by their clients are suddenly blackballed and cut.
Commitments are made and then taken back by people who weren't empowered to make them in the first place. Decisions / assignments are made based on incestuous lines of friendship. There is an unwilingness to invest in people or accounts. Leadership speaks and demonstrates disdain for the consultants. Short-term, shortsighted approach.
