Pros
1) Surrounded by the smartest people in Austin 2) Small and nimble. Recommend a change on Monday. Watch it go into affect on Wednesday. 3) Bootstrapped / Profitable. Don't have investors breathing down your neck 4) You see the direct impact of your work. From helping a mommy blogger 2x her income to helping big brands like theChive and Entrepreneur Magazine 5) FLEXIBLE -- Work from home, take vacation, ect. There are hundreds if not thousands of "start-ups" in Austin. I've interacted with a good handful of them and can confidently say SumoMe is the best at executing. Quite chasing the start-ups that are chasing the next funding round, and come work for a real company
Cons
1) It's a hustle. Don't sign up if you're looking to clock in / out at 40 hours / week. Brings the Bay hustle to Austin 2) Fast growth = change. This is good / bad. Growth = more opportunity, but also means you can't walk around the office with your shirt off ;)
