Ridiculous - Test Engineer TEOCO Employee Review

Pros

Flexible schedule, autonomy, great benefits. Many of the managers are decent enough though some are not. It's difficult to get fired (which is only beneficial to those who don't care to work hard, to those of us who do... it's a con!). Free snacks!

Cons

CEO is a disgusting person in every way--very arrogant and rude! It's hard to find good talent because the company is CHEAP ("they don't want people motivated by money"). They actually pay H1B Visa workers more than equally or better qualified US citizens (by ~$10k-$25k+) to do the exact same work. Everything is a negotiation but never in favor of the employee, they have to find a way to save money... even if it means buying double what you need just to get a discount. They wait until almost halfway through the year before announcing the bonus structure and add $250k onto the already absurd (nearly 20% growth year on year) revenue requirement--but refuse to hire adequate additional workers. Upper management is dishonest, and they do everything they can to dance around questions when you try to pull the truth out of them! Most stay because we have an excellent team and the people who've been around since the previous company get paid decently well (though substantially less than when TEOCO took over. Also, there is a great deal of flexibility and job security for many of the more senior testers. Directors have no say over anything, every decision is made by senior level management. Directors are like lobbyist, arguing for improvement and they are like counselors trying to help those under them the best they can. It's insane!
