Pros
There are definitely pros to working at Tilled. Half-day Fridays are great and the benefits aren't too bad. At minimum, I think the company was started with good intentions. The people who work here are, for the most part, really great folks who work hard to deliver on whatever the strategy is at the moment.
Cons
In good conscience, I cannot recommend anyone work here unless you have serious financial stability. The company *looks* like it is doing well from an outside perspective, but internally, things are a total mess. There were 2 rounds of layoffs within just a few months and each time leadership said there was "plenty of runway" for the remaining employees, but that remains to be seen. Coming in with startup experience elsewhere, I can confidently say, the internal chaos is definitely not growing pains. It is leadership discord and a CEO who isn't just unable to make his own decisions, but who basically doesn't even run the company. The CRO and the CTO battle for control and essentially walk all over the CEO. It is absolutely a boys club despite the single female on the leadership team. Leadership acts like they value other's ideas, but as soon as you have an idea that runs in conflict with theirs you are demoted or ousted from the company altogether as we saw with the only other female leader whose treatment at Tilled was abominable. The transparency is the most confounding I have ever seen. It is both too transparent in that you know way too much about leadership drama and not transparent at all as you'll never understand what the strategy is or if it will change within a week or a month to "meet" the company's goals; aka moving the goalpost. It's really a shame because I had such high hopes for Tilled. We could have been awesome.
