Pros

This is definitely the greatest workplace I've had the privilege of working at. Lots of energy and excitement over the work to be done. Challenging problems to solve - when things get rough (as they always will at times) I know I've got extremely talented and smart colleagues that are in the thick of it with me as we push together and support each other. Competent leadership comprised of highly experienced veterans of their domains - even though I may not necessarily agree with every decision or strategy, I trust and respect them enough to be able to whole heartedly support and follow them in the hopes that they prove me wrong. Lots of opportunities to grow and get feet wet in other domains - people are willing to teach you and get involved with whatever you are interested in

Cons

All that I've listed above isn't to say that Toast is perfect - no place is perfect. I think the whole Toast experience is missed by remote employees, though Toast has been taking large steps to fill that gap. Sometimes the work-life balance gets lost in the chaos, but that's hardly surprising for a hot tech startup. Besides, managers have always been encouraging us to take time off as needed. Scaling at the rate we are growing comes with growing pains, but there is great effort being taken to preserve the fun culture I've come to love when I joined two years ago. We work at high velocity and intensity, which may not be suitable for everyone. Oh, and hey, when are we getting 401k matching?

Pros

-Strong pay (if you hit your numbers) -Ambitious goals that challenge you -Competitive landscape that will force you to get better beyond exclusively selling -Founders still very involved and very visible to the company and employees -Team cultures are always strong -For sales, you always get in touch with prospects, which is an underrated pro -When leadership promotes internal mobility and career development they mean it and support it

Cons

-Numerous Sales teams that share the same markets/TAMs. Customers and prospects get exhausted of outreach - Since going public, the goal posts keep moving forward even if 60% of the org hit goal. -A number of core leaders have left, new ones still learning the ropes which was hindering the orgs and teams
