Pros

Leadership have a strong vision for the future but are extremely poor with communicating it to staff at all levels. The budgets forever sign off financial investment into systems, products and people- historically it was a matter of he who shouted loudest and longest received incremental investment but it seems as though the move back to PE is helping turn around this thinking. Travelport has the right systems in place to support flexible working. Positive investment in learning and development but not extensively at all levels. The office is currently being “refreshed” which at the very least will make it a pretty place on the M4 to spend 37.5 hours a week. There is so much to fix and as a result great projects to get involved in- your CV will make you stand out in the external market. Join, take everything you can then move onwards and upwards in your career beyond Travelport.

Cons

Everything else. The people 'on the ground' are all really friendly and welcoming to your face but much like school politics ... keep your wits about you because if you fall out of favour these same people will band together to remove you. Old company with people who have been in the same role and or team for decades (many straight from school) the impact being they have no first hand knowledge of working for other companies and are unwilling to change the way they do things. If you manage to align yourself to the old guard (at all levels) you will succeed. For the past 3 years there have been large scale redundancies linked more to face fit rather than performance or business need ( see point above) Poor systems and communication bottom down.
