Pros
Depending on your location and workplace culture, you get a lot of three-day or longer weekends when the active duty staff do. My workplace was flexible and allowed me to do my work independently
Cons
Either micro management or no help from battalion level management, there’s no in between. No career growth. Sometimes you find yourself surrounded by government workers who do not take pride in work because they’ll get paid regardless and the likelihood of getting disciplines is little. Pay, especially when working in a large city, is considerably low. Better job for people who have additional income from military retirement or other benefits
