Pros
Was treated well by my manager. Work/life balance taken into consideration. The pay is ok. Some fun people and fun events. Lucrative bonus structure.
Cons
The marketing technique used involves misleading consumers. We were taught to tell customers we would provide "maintenance tips" (even though we dont) as a way to get us in the door to sell them products. They also have these sweepstakes giveaways that they use as a tool to get information and leads. I was reprimanded for questioning the validity of the 8 grand prize sweepstakes that are supposedly awarded within a year (six $10,000 and two $25,000 giveaways). I feel like if all of the grand prize drawings advertised existed, it would have been explained and publicized. I found proof of only a few giveaways on some youtube videos from 2011 and 2013, one for a nintendo wii, another for a gas card, and only one for 10k towards a home makeover, but nothing like what is advertised on the sweepstakes cards we currently use. Maybe im wrong but ill let you can do your own research and be the judge. There is no denying that its a bit sketchy. I would love to see actual proof of all of these "giveaways" that they advertise and convince people to enter. In my opinion, this seems like a "Sales before service" type of company and that is why i decided to part ways. I was treated well as an employee but cannot take pride in how we were generating our leads. It really bothered me and wore me down over time. I ended up feeling embarassed of myself and hope to keep others from feeling the same way if this is not something they want to be involved with for a paycheck.
