Pros
Working for the corporate arm of Vail Resorts was interesting and enlightening. The office was new and well maintained. Coworkers are friendly and, more often than not, like minded. It is an easy place to get comfortable and float through years of life on 'easy'.
Cons
The compensation is poor, if even comparable to other top companies (outside of the 'hospitality' industry). There is a lack of professional development opportunities from accredited sources. Many employees in management positions have worked their way up from the bottom and lack formal education and basic computer skills. Paid vacation is less than any previous position I've held. The headquarters are two hours from any of the resort locations and forget about a quick drive on the weekends, you can double that time if you get caught in winter weekend traffic.
