Pros

The people who actually do the work are great. I have always been impressed by the quality of work the Financial Planners are able to produce with such horrible resources.

Cons

A caution to anyone thinking of enrolling in Personal Advisor Services--the technology does not work. Advisors are limited on the advice they can give because the planning software has so many glitches that many things that make sense are just not possible to do for clients. Morale amongst planners is extremely low. Advice Services used to be a destination career and now it is a place to avoid. Those hired in from the outside are paid tens of thousands of dollars more than those who have moved up internally. Very little diversity. Managers have no advice experience.

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
