Pros

-Competitive pay -Benefits are average and what you'd expect -It's a large company and your experience will greatly differ based on your department silo. -The work is largely political, repetitive, and slow to achieve results (can be a pro or con depending on your work ethic).

Cons

-The position you interview for will likely not be what you do in reality at this company. Expect ambiguity and constant shifting concerning roles, expectations, and ways to succeed in that role. Expect constant shifting of supervisors. -Unlimited PTO is dependent upon your supervisor. You may get lucky and have true work/life balance or you might get a terrible supervisor that demands constant overtime with little recognition. -Toxic Coworkers. There are folks (not all) who work here with very little working knowledge/responsibility for their roles and will exploit their coworkers with planned incompetence. If you perform above and beyond, then they will seek to paint you in a bad light to others. They will limit communications and disrupt plans for the sake of creating chaos. They will seek to undermine competing departments for the sake of ensuring their department gets increased funding. The key then is to perform just below expectations (if any are set), keep your head below the radar, and never volunteer for work unless explicitly asked. You will likely not get fired unless you openly disagree with the toxic coworkers. Keep a significant audit trail backed up to cover up any defamation thrown your way. You'll know who the toxic coworkers are when you hear them openly badmouthing others with blatant lies in team meetings. They generally have deep insecurities regarding their own level of work and are generally unable to produce results without using others. In a sense parasitic. -Nepotism/family friends are rampant throughout the company. You will find that many folks gained their positions through external work relations rather than through merit. -Excessive reliance on hiring contractors instead of full time employees.

Pros

- Valuable to have a job in this market, and somewhere that historically pays a market rate - unlimited PTO for fulltime

Cons

- New CEO is something...concerning. Workforce reduction, replacing C-suite with former pals from previous companies, huge push on AI without the subsequent reassurance that our jobs won't be replaced. Seems like the goal is for all of us to train AI to do our jobs before getting let go. Really tone deaf when us little people have livlihoods on the line.
