Pros

Viking Forge employes hard-working, industry-knowledgeable people. The management team positions the company well for continued growth. Cross-functional learning is encouraged as well as process knowledge. The company maintains ISO 9001:2008 certification and offers on-the-job learning for non-skilled hourly positions. Supervisors will coach and counsel associates to correct errors. Co-workers are friendly and encouraging while new hires strive to learn the methods and know-how of forging steel. There is a lot to learn about, including but not limited to, hydraulics, pnuematics, steel receiving, chemistry, shipping, quality and much more.

Cons

The forging process requires steel to be heated to very high temperatures, up to 2,300 F. In the summer months, the work environment can be very hot. The forging process requires use of lubricants; graphite is used as a lubricant which is black and dirty. The take away: be prepared to go home dirty. Shower facilities are available!

Pros

Been here almost 2 years. Good supportive staff. Injuries are usually worked with. Being sick as well.

Cons

Favoritism is a bit on the high side. Pay scale is very strange when you compare to responsibilities and stress. Being a technician we are underpaid and reviews based off black and white. Not your actual work ethics or abilities.
