Pros
Walgreens is a good company to work for in the retail sector. They try their hardest to promote an open door policy and depending on the type of management team a particular store has, this method can prove to be effective. The great thing about this company is that most of their management staff have started from the bottom as cashiers or photo technicians and progressed - all you have to do is show that you are a hard worker, and that you have interest in progressing in that specific field and the management staff has no problem grooming you (if time permits).
Cons
There are WAY too many company initiatives and programs that are pushed onto the employees the moment they are hired. The company cares more that at any given time you can successfully regurgitate ECC or Cultural belief definitions than they do about employee training. While they do attempt to teach and reteach, it is very noticeable when upper management puts pressure on mid level management, who then gets frustrated and all but yells at employees.
