Pros
It's a job with a decent wage and okay benefits that they keep cutting back.
Cons
This "healthcare" company care nothing for the well being of their employees. This is the second year in a row that they have increased insurance premiums and deductibles. They have restructured all time off into a single " paid time off" category instead of having separate sick leave and vacation time. They have also changed how time off is awarded. We no longer get weeks but only an acural rate that is then multiplied against your hours worked to receive time off. Also, the pharmacy working conditions are HORRIBLE. We are constantly badgered to get numbers up and do a higher workload without additional compensation or even the man hours to take on suck daunting task. The way the company is structured, the pharmacist do not receive a lunch break at all and with the demand to fill large numbers of scripts, the pharmacist has hardly any time to actually "consult" patients on hour to take or even use their medication. We can petition for an increase in hours, which is usually denied because "that's what should be sufficient based on LAST YEARS numbers". Also, any management above the district level just does not care about how the employees feel about where the company is going. Also, the "my voice, my Walgreens" survey is a complete joke. It only rates how you think your store management is doing, not the company itself. We haven't influence as to how the company we work for is ran or how we're treated. If a store does not do well in the survey, the store manger is placed on probation and if their ratings do not go up, they run the risk of being demoted or fired because they are no loner meeting "quotas".
