Pros

The state inspections are a breeze to pass as the company holds themselves to a very high standard You get a decent amount of PTO Health insurance is very affordable You get stock If you are a lower level supervisor you can opt in for 4 day work weeks. You get additional pay between midnight and 5 am

Cons

If you work in a store bringing in 25000+ a day you will be expected to do the work of 3 people I do not mind doing the work of 2 seeing as how I am leading the team and would love for everyone to have hustle enthusiasm and care about the quality of their work. They do not allow you a reasonable way to run the store as a whole, complete counts, do the 5+ checklist a day, run the food service department hands on making the food side by side with your associates , do a complete FSRA audit each shift, stop to take temps, file documentation and complete orders The raises have not been great. It's literally change not even a entire dollar and I exceeded in most of the areas and run a high volume store. They require you to be available 24/7 but then claim to give you a healthy work life balance You are constantly due for random audits which are never announced they can come at almost anytime and take place when lower level managers are running the store and you may not even be present for and these audits are supposed to be a direct reflection of your job as a food and beverage manager. You are expected to be above a 97 and looked at as terrible if you are below that. You may be transfered to anywhere in your "area" without your consent regardless if it disrupts your life We are supposed to be scheduled above labor for training new employees to ensure the employee is trained at a very high quality however myself and the employee are always apart of labor The company seems to have good intentions however they are burning out many FBMS and AGMS The css position which controls price changes re arranging aisles cycle counting floor product gets 2 to every store. However as the food and beverage manager who is responsible for 3x that work load you only get one per store and are expected to do a unreasonable amount of work with no support or assistant fbm so a 24 hour business is expected to hold the same standard all of the time and accomplish all of the tasks with just a single 40 hour a week employee

Pros

(Depending on your manager) you can take the tasks at your own pace and do what feels best, based on what you see. The position I'm in allows headphone use if you're not visible to customers.

Cons

Skeletal shifts are the norm, employee burnout is rampant and unaddressed. Manager turnover is very high at my store, which makes establishing consistency impossible. I get the impression that the conditions for employees vary greatly by store. That said, if you find yourself stuck at a rougher one, your options are to either take the toll to your physical and mental health, or to quit/transfer to a better store. I have personally experienced many legal violations at my place of employment. (keeping the store open and functioning when the workers don't have a bathroom [OSHA fixed that]) (and a few incidents where hours were not properly entered for employees, causing them to work without pay) I have worked here for 4 years without benefits, one year only missing the hour-cutoff for it by an average of 20 minutes. Consistent schedules are very uncommon for employees.
