Darn, we failed you :(. This experience is the opposite of our intentions. Hopefully, you learned something useful here and were well-positioned to move on. I am somewhat taken back, though. We haven't let anyone go in a long time. We tend to work with people, give them feedback, help them get better. If someone must be let go, it's never abrupt, instead, always with warning and severance. Similarly, we are very lenient to illness & family matters - we understand and always allow remote work during these scenarios. To hear your experience is surprising. Again, I'm sorry you felt that way. As you know, we have an "open door" culture here. We encourage feedback by asking for it regularly, through surveys and one on ones. The idea is that your unfavorable experience would be voiced in this forums, so we can adjust in the moment and make things better for you, right away. This has proven successful time and time again. I'm sorry it didn't work with you. I'd love the opportunity to apologize personally and get more feedback directly. Please reach out on your favorite channel. Best regards, Arsham

Pros

I've never felt more camaraderie with my coworkers anywhere else. I genuinely loved the team and HR was always doing things to help morale and to improve the company. I always felt like they genuinely cared and wanted to make it a good place to work. Additionally there were a few people on the leadership team in Creative, Development, and People Operations who would try their best to fight the good fight. The unlimited PTO and work/life balance were also highly appreciated.

Cons

Major pay disparities between people who do the same job or carry the same title. If you're coming in to WebMechanix fight for a higher salary because there's someone else who is being paid more than you for the same job. Blatant favoritism by leadership. Questionable moral decisions around pay when it comes to working with talent outside the US. Generally if the leadership team (again with a few exceptions) can get away with paying someone pennies they'll do it.
