Pros

I think the main and only pro is Remote work, but there’s a lot of out of state client travel now being expected pretty regularly for some.

Cons

I’m not one to leave reviews like this, but this is coming from the heart and I’m doing this to help others mental health and well being. Do not work here unless you are desperate for a job. I don’t think they’re hiring given how many clients they have recently lost, but places like this are the reason why agencies get a bad rap. I’m talking about psychological toxicity not just overworked and underpaid (but there’s that, too). But, don’t take my word for it. Ask them for their latest Employee Net Promoter scores, the results from the past few surveys are very telling. •Unprofessional. They can’t keep top talent, nor can they afford it. •Toxic male exec leaders (not all, but most). Especially the “Executive of Client Services”. Be wary of the humble facade, when someone gossips heavily about their own loyal team members ya better believe it’s happening about you, too. How can you be an executive leader in a client facing role but have poor leadership and marketing skills? I’m talking about basic management 101: micromanaging, assuming the worst of people, manipulative, picking favorites, zero trust & power hungry. You should have put people in leadership not because of tenure but because they have the skills to grow strong teams. Without strong leaders you can’t bring or keep top talent, and without top talent, you can’t get high tiered clients. •The pay is very below market, especially for those who have been here prior to pandemic. •They aren’t being honest with employees. Which makes me question what else they aren’t being honest about. Don’t let the other reviews sway you, I question the authenticity.

Pros

I've never felt more camaraderie with my coworkers anywhere else. I genuinely loved the team and HR was always doing things to help morale and to improve the company. I always felt like they genuinely cared and wanted to make it a good place to work. Additionally there were a few people on the leadership team in Creative, Development, and People Operations who would try their best to fight the good fight. The unlimited PTO and work/life balance were also highly appreciated.

Cons

Major pay disparities between people who do the same job or carry the same title. If you're coming in to WebMechanix fight for a higher salary because there's someone else who is being paid more than you for the same job. Blatant favoritism by leadership. Questionable moral decisions around pay when it comes to working with talent outside the US. Generally if the leadership team (again with a few exceptions) can get away with paying someone pennies they'll do it.
