Pros

I’ve been with Webgility for six years and have seen my career grow from Senior Software Engineer to Senior Engineering Manager. The company is much more transparent and supportive, every deserving candidate here gets the chance to prove themselves and take on new challenges. Webgility stands out for providing an open platform where you can share your ideas and have your voice heard, regardless of your role. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work directly with the CEO,CTO & Pricipal Architect, which has helped me develop both as a strategic thinker and an engineer. The culture is friendly and collaborative, and there’s a strong emphasis on work-life balance—even during busy times, the team is supportive and understanding. Compensation and benefits are competitive and reflect the value you bring to the company. What I appreciate most is the company’s willingness to let employees try new things and grow in multiple directions. There’s a strong focus on learning, innovation (including access to a wide range of AI tools), and making sure you’re ready for your next role. If you’re looking for a place where you can genuinely shape your career, enjoy a healthy work environment, and be fairly rewarded for your contributions, Webgility is a great choice.

Cons

This may not be the right place for those who are not interested in growth, flexibility, or continuous learning. If you’re looking for a straightforward 10-to-5, service-based job where everything is handed to you and you only need to code, this environment may not suit you. Here, you’re expected to be involved from brainstorming ideas to launching features and refining them based on customer feedback. The culture rewards initiative, adaptability, and ownership—so those who prefer a simple, routine role may find it challenging.

Pros

Work from home - With flexibility to choose your own equipment

Cons

Employee Feedback Process: The employee NPS surveys were intended to capture honest feedback, but the process lacked anonymity. Leadership's approach, which included personally asking employees to complete the survey, created a sense of discomfort and discouraged open, candid responses. Changing Directives and Lack of Strategic Clarity: The CEO's constant shifts in strategy made it difficult to plan marketing campaigns effectively. A clear and consistent strategic direction is crucial for team success. Instances of mandated messaging changes from "Total accounting solution" to "sync multichannel orders" to other specific directions within a short time span fueled this inconsistency. Handling of Workforce Changes: Instead of exploring ways to retool or reassign staff, the company almost always let people go without much consideration of alternative solutions. This approach impacts team morale and creates uncertainty among employees. Product Knowledge and Communication: There was significant confusion about the product's capabilities and features. This lack of clarity led to messages that did not align with the product's actual functionality, causing issues for customers and staff. Leadership Interaction and Employee Engagement: The CEO's communication style often felt one-sided, focusing more on lecturing than listening. This made employees hesitant to engage with leadership, limiting constructive dialogue and feedback. Goal Setting and Planning: The company's goal-setting process was frequently delayed, affecting the planning process at every level. Without clear goals at the start of each quarter, it was difficult for departments and individuals to align their efforts, impacting overall productivity and bonus structures.
