If you get a bad leader, you are stuck with it and don't have much option. "You leave a bad leader, not the company" holds true.
The company policy of giving raises to deserving employees is terrible. If you happened to start low, you are stuck with it. You could have your peers or even direct reports with no experience get more than you and nothing will be done about it. You might get a promotion but no raise.
There are no set standards across so it is up to your supervisor for any recognition. If you are not their favorite, you don't stand a chance
