Pros
health care and dental are incredible, retirement is decent as a C&T and incredible as an M&P, other benefits are great. Internal training resources are fantastic and highly applicable. HR, and most departments, genuinely want to help you grow your career/have your career be with the university.
Cons
Paying for parking is outrageous even with the Yale discount, parking is limited, there is a lot of bureaucracy and politics, along with emphasis (degree depends on dept) on hierarchy - so it is not the place for everyone. Not willing to have flexible work conditions/location moving forward with the next phase of the pandemic, which is ridiculous when most jobs are doable remotely. The tuition reimbursement is essentially non-existent, this needs serious improvement. M&P's aren't supposed to work more than scheduled hours/hours in description, but most do, and expect the same of others. work-life is hard to maintain. some workaholics expecting the same of others.
