Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your honesty, and it is great to hear you are enjoying aspects such as the apprenticeship scheme, the early finishes on Fridays and the wider range of benefits available.  We recognise that retention is an area we will always look to strengthen. Our current average tenure is four years, which is considerably higher than the UK recruitment industry average. Across the sector, typical tenure is often between one and a half and two and a half years, particularly in entry level or sales focused roles. We believe our stronger retention reflects the investment we make in our people and the clear opportunities for growth and progression within the business. Our bonus structure is constantly evolving to reflect the complexity of the current recruitment environment and to better support the way we work. We do not operate a 360-recruitment model, and this is a deliberate decision. We believe it enables us to upskill and develop our people more effectively, better meet the demands of today’s recruitment market, and deliver excellence to our customers. Our Career Ladders also allow individuals to gain deep expertise aligned to their strengths, while encouraging cross functional collaboration and personal development. We proactively discuss and plan employee development pathways during one to ones, mid-year appraisals and annual reviews. These provide a space for managers and employees to reflect on achievements and set clear development goals together. We actively encourage employee input in shaping these pathways. We value feedback like yours and will continue to listen, adapt, and improve. Thank you again for your input.

Pros

I have worked at Zenopa for a long time, so I’ve seen the business during both very positive periods and more challenging ones. Despite a difficult year internally, the commercial position of the business is strong and the brand remains well respected. The team is one of the company’s biggest strengths – many employees are loyal, knowledgeable and genuinely care about delivering a great experience for clients and candidates. Zenopa gives people the opportunity to develop real expertise in niche markets, and the culture at its best is supportive, collaborative and driven by a shared commitment to delivering for customers.

Cons

The last 12 months have been a period of disruption for the company. Some individuals who were given positions of influence did not align with the company’s values, which created a negative internal environment and worked actively against the progression leadership were working towards. Last year the Managing Director stepped down for personal reasons, which snowballed change and feelings of uncertainty. Some of the concerns raised in previous reviews do have merit, and the business is still working through the effects of that period and rebuilding a more positive culture.

Pros

Zenopa offers strong opportunities for progression if you are motivated and willing to put the work in. There are clear paths to move up and people who perform well are recognised and given more responsibility. The team environment is supportive and mentors make a big difference, particularly when you are learning the role. The company also invests in developing people long term, including a genuine commitment to degree apprenticeships which is great to see. Zenopa has built a strong reputation in its specialist markets. It is clear the business values investing in its people and building expertise within the sectors it works in. It’s also a place where commitment is recognised. People who are consistent, resilient and serious about building a career in recruitment tend to do very well and are rewarded with progression and opportunity.

Cons

The pace can be high and expectations are demanding, which may not suit everyone. Recent internal changes have created some uncertainty and this has impacted retention in parts of the business. At times the culture can feel a little uneasy while things settle.
