Pros
Anonymity. I'm the only person in our market who does what I do, which is a downside when you want to take a vacation but an upside because there isn't anyone looking over my shoulder questioning what I do all day. There is a wide variety of clientele so the work is never boring. This job also has a lot of perks such as in-house concerts, occasional free food, and occasional free tickets to sporting events and concerts.
Cons
Only one small raise in 8 years. I was hired as the Creative Director but it turns out I was a staff of one and, outside of web ad creation, all creative decisions for the stations were made by the Program Directors so it was, quite honestly, an empty title. I did have to manage my own work flow, which could be quite heavy at times with short turn around times and a lot of last minute projects. There is absolutely no where to move up in this company except going into sales.
