Pros
- Decent discount - Full-time benefits - Higher than average pay part-time retail - Some awesome people
Cons
Following the honeymoon period, one finds themselves to be in a mentally and emotionally draining work environment surrounded by mostly awesome educators and then there are KLs (some), ASMs, SMs, and above... The more time you spend here, the more mentally draining, toxic, and bizarre the days become. Eventually, I've found working here to be comparable to being in an abusive relationship. Look up "gaslighting" and that is exactly what one encounters here. You will literally begin to think you must be crazy and have self-doubt, before coming back to grips with reality upon leaving the store. Integrity, entrepreneurship, and growth are all touted as being key to company culture and yet, the exact opposite is what you will find. Feedback culture can quickly turn passive aggressive, tiresome, and petty. Company policies, expectations, and rules matter, except when and for whom they don't... Overall, you get to work with a lot of great people, but also a lot of not so great people and unfortunately, the culture facilitates practices that are unprofessional and of poor business acumen . Heed this warning and do not drink the Kool-Aid... at least, not beyond a seasonal gig.
