Run, Believe The Bad Reviews, Not Really the Best Company To Work At, It's a Lie
Pros
Monthly food stipend, if you like your computer monitored at all times, this is the place for you. Yes indeed, they actually monitor every keystroke and process on your computer without reason or warning. They will lie to your face saying they will be hiring people that will help your team grow but ultimately that is a lie they pass around it would seem. Instead I spent time interviewing potential Directors for other positions at the company (why would I be doing that if I was such a bad employee?)
Cons
Considering that they are considered “one of the best companies to be employed at in LA” I found that to be hardly the case . The fact of how they handled terminating me on Employee Appreciation day with a smile on his face and the fact they they terminated for no real good reason. I caused no harm , caused no issues to the staff or organization, caused no technical problems, no outages, was available, but yet they couldn’t wait one day to rush into a cold way of terminating someone. I’m sure if they were “the best place to work at” they could have waited some time so that I could complete the task that I was terminated for which was actually due that day but a task that multiple engineers or senior level resources couldn’t upgrade for several months (9+) if not longer along with many things in their backlog. If I was such a bad employee why did they have me interviewing people for the new positions makes no sense whatsoever. So it is what it is no love lost as I was already planning a change but needed more time. I ended up at a stellar events company where I was paid more and I ended up also in a Senior Management and hands on Devops role and yes i'm definitely hiring talent and yes I employ trust to the team that reports to me. The prior PM reviews are VERY accurate and there is a lack of actual leadership and over all poor company morale. The place is poorly run by a technology leader that will track your every move , monitor your computer daily, rush to brash assumptions which make non-sense, power hungry in nature. I should have realized working for this company would have been an upward battle because the first week he was already berating my work ethic talking to me about my use patterns on my computer and being late 3 minutes to a meeting due to technical reasons which I actually had alerted him about. Engineers have complained about tight deliverables on the holidays and to see the moral dip because they were required to grind through the holidays was simply a wake up call for me. Things are not as they appear when you interview for a job. There is a reason why people leave. If you are employed somewhere don’t leave for this place you will be sadly disappointed. I took the role because it made sense at the time to but after seeing with my own eyes I realized. I’m quite sure Enervee did me a favor I also don’t see much growth in this business in the way they approach he utilities. The landscape is limited and growth will be limited in my opinion. Just a note that when they did terminate my employment, they didn't offer any services to help me bounce back (not that I needed it) but if you end up in the same shoes, expect no severance, expect them to not offer any help. For a company that is considered one of the best, they are surely the best at being bad at not only what they do, but also what they promise and provide to their employees and "ex-employees".
