Pros

Coworkers are great. They sincerely do their best to make the job work. Coffee’s pretty good.

Cons

Upper management is seriously out of touch, greedy, and tyrannical. I work at an extremely high foot traffic location and there’s no support whatsoever when it comes to concerns being raised. They bleed through managers like CRAZY, making us consistently understaffed and underprepared for the extremely overwhelming shifts. Expectations change randomly, and upper management is concerned with the most menial of things to look good to customers rather than sincerely wanting to create an environment for the love of coffee like they consistently tout. I tried so hard to love this job, but I’ll be leaving this sinking ship the second I am able.

Pros

I loved my manager and coworkers. For the most part, everybody really cared about each other. The product itself, at least at the time, was great and being fed lunch for free every day as a service worker is a big plus. However, I think they did away with that perk toward the end of my tenture.

Cons

Upper level management is a nightmare. Constantly changing procedures in a nonsensical way and enforcing service standards that put undue pressure on staff without any real benefit for guests. It seems that upper management is bored and needs to spin wheels to prove to the big boss that they are worth their salaries. Few of them have worked floor shifts in years, so don't really know what that experience is like or how to positively impact workflow.
