Pros

Unassuming people are lured in with lofty words about innovation and healthcare.

Cons

In reality the place has continued to operate on toxic culture and politics for years. In the last few years, some enthusiastic people joined and were overworked and underpaid and left when they realized what's on offer. I can confirm their unscrupulous culture. Employees are insulted after their tireless efforts to keep the company afloat in spite of the chair’s self sabotaging ego. Farcical policies citing timesheets. Employees and contractors are forced to work for weeks without clarity on payment. To clarify their cliched responses to some reviews “Our structure is not hierarchical” - True, it's dictatorial - the CEO's whims shape daily events here “Hands on learning” - Sure. overpromising to clients is somehow 'managed' through interns and freshers who do work tirelessly for days to compensate for the leadership's unethical claims. The CEO compulsively micromanages all staff from HR to operations “Access to leadership” - LOL. The leader is 'too busy' to pay staff. Too arrogant to listen to challenges “Openness to change” - Really? How delusional are you? Even your forced few positive reviews can’t hide the sad truth

HITLAB Response

HITLAB takes all postings on Glassdoor seriously and our door is always open for all employees to make suggestions. In curating such an environment, we realize that what the monk and poet John Lydgate said in the 14th century still holds true today: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” With social media dominating discourse in all arenas, the old saying “everyone’s a critic” has never rung more true. We at HITLAB would like to emphasize to all reading this that anything worth doing will draw a little criticism. To achieve something great – something you truly believe in – you have to be prepared to address the naysayers. Indeed, seeking critiques and addressing problem points for health-technology projects in development is a large part of what we do. Across the disruptive ecosystem, it can be helpful to keep centuries of sage advice in mind: “To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.” – Aristotle “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain – and most fools do.” – Dale Carnegie

Pros

People have recounted their experience about red flags during interviews. I don't think you can always tell. My interview was conducted professionally by their hiring manager from India. I actually enjoyed the conversation and was excited to join them.

Cons

My reporting was abruptly changed to the founder at their HQ at New York. No place is perfect but I was surprised to see how they refused to acknowledge basic and critical problems in the organization. I was never given due credit for my work and belittled .I was naive to expect any better in such an oppressive place. You're given zero opportunities for development and discriminated against.I was also promised key connection's in the founder's network but didn't fall for it and quit.
