Pros

Friendly coworkers, direct management seems to care about us little guys most of the time, our specific department is allowed to work from home.

Cons

Getting discounts on books shouldn’t be a ‘benefit’. Stop touting the idea that this is a passion career for people who love books because we also need to make a living too. Bonuses are dependent on the success of a particular book that becomes a best seller that year, so if there’s no big hits, you don’t get a bonus. Raises are minimal (1.5-3%) and it’s extremely hard to move up to other positions. Many people who have been there years barely make more than the starting entry level individual in the same position.
