Attorneys Beware

Pros

Benefits paid for entire family. Administrative staff treated with moderate dignity.

Cons

Everything else. My advice, even to friends, is to only accept an offer from this firm if you have been denied from all other firms and are about to go bankrupt. Poor management, poor values, high stress, unrealistic expectations, no room for growth.

Pros

The salary is slightly higher than firms of the same size. However, they will work you for every penny they pay you and more. The higher salary will likely just go to your medical bills.

Cons

No flexibility - sick hours and vacation hours are tracked as if they are billable hours. Every time you leave the office, you must notify "HR" (which they really don't have one). You are not allowed to work from home unless you meet your billing requirements and give 48 hours notice. Micro-management: every aspect of your case handling will be managed and don't count on constructive feedback, career advancement, more like criticism and ridicule. Lack of an HR department to handle employees concerns.

Terrible Company to Work For

Pros

Competitive salaries (if working as admin, file clerk or accounting be sure to request nothing less than $22/hr), company offers health and dental insurance, breakfast is provided every other Friday...

Cons

Terrible management, over worked employees, very understaffed, employees are expected to do much more than their position entails, company is very cheap and frugal, employees cannot express their thoughts nor concerns without being attacked and retaliated against by management, company practices favoritism, they don't have HR representation/standards, must ask permission to go to lunch, there is no sense of team work, hostile and uncomfortable environment, work is delegated to employees by higher positions only to be taken credit by those who assigned it...
