Pros

Remote work, flexible hours, unlimited PTO

Cons

They preach about culture, but ultimately their is none. They discard employees without a care in the world. Lack of accountability from leadership, no investment into the people at all. Feedback often falls on deaf ears, your opinion is not valued. Very disappointed in how I was treated, laid off 20% of the company with no warning. In the middle of planning an off-site event to build and bond with the team. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company.

Pros

Met some nice and smart people. Help me build character and thick skin in this marketplace.

Cons

Leadership is not honest or transparent. Lied to our faces saying our jobs were safe, 6 months later laid off more than half the company

Pros

Remote work for everyone!! long with it, everyone has the space and autonomy to approach their work in independent, yet still collaborative, ways. I often hear that remote work is a culture killer or that it makes it so that people don't communicate with one another, but Instil couldn't be better evidence that this is not the case. People seem to appreciate and understand each other well, and speak highly of collaboration and connection with one another. Instil aspires culturally towards very optimistic ideals of how a company can be supportive of employees, and the result is a supportive environment where people of various backgrounds and perspectives seem to feel much more free than at past companies to be themselves.

Cons

Executive leadership is pretty thin. Chief of Product is doing a great job with the product side, and then the CEO and COO/CFO seem to be tag teaming everything else and often have different opinions on the ideal state for these functions. While I get the sense that clearer and more direct top-level leadership would be supportive, overall I think the teams do a really good job collaborating together and filling the gaps, plus the silver lining is we have more autonomy which many people on this experienced team of smart folks really seem to enjoy.
