Wouldn't Recommend: Frustrating and Unprofessional

Pros

Relaxed workspace, mostly. There was once a good amount of freedom and work-life balance. The pay was low but the culture was one that justified it for an entry-level employee. The low-level people there are like family, and we do have some fun.

Cons

You'll likely be hired with quite low pay. This increases (minimally) when you're through training. Once you're trained up, there's no clear structure for growth in the company. The current management is abrasive, demanding, and sort of sexist. You'll have a hefty load of work, and you can expect to be overloaded at certain points. They try to pass a startup mentality to justify things but it's been around too long for that. You're better off to not offer your professional or personal opinion. I would not work there again, and if a close friend considered the job, at this point, I would encourage against it. One big red flag is that there is no HR. There are no women in leadership roles at the company, and the only "HR" mentioned was a running offensive joke.

Pros

* Good pay. * Great opportunities to contribute. * Decent office environment. * Awesome coworkers. * A boss that listens. If you're looking to make big contributions to a small company, this is a great place to work. Management listens to feedback and concerns, and is extremely flexible when it comes to time to show up, working from home, and is easily accessible.

Cons

You will work a lot. If you're young and looking to really contribute and build your professional career up by working on interesting projects, this is probably not a con. Also, this seems to be highly dependent on your role at Iterate, and if you feel overburdened, you can easily communicate that to management, who will assist in distributing your workload as possible.

Pros

Iterate management has succeeded in creating a company where the employees genuinely enjoy going to work and being part of a team. The office environment is clean and professional, but the open desk style and personal touches make it feel like working from home. Work/life balance is great, and while there are some long days during crucial periods, there's still a focus on staying healthy and taking care of yourself. The training for new hires is phenomenal, and the company invests a large amount into growing their employees into knowledgeable team players. Also free coffee.

Cons

No 401k match program, which is always nice but not necessary.
