Pros

It takes more than free breakfast and coffee to drive a good culture

Cons

I will try and limit the cons to under 5000 words! The CEO and most of the executive team are what is driving this place to the ground. A toxic place where you are made to feel like you are a nobody. They sell themselves as a 'high performance culture" but what that means is that the staff are flogged with ridiculous unachievable targets and if they are finally achieved the managers or executives take all the credit and are rewarded with bonuses. You are either in the circle of favourites or you are judged for what those favourites decide to sell you as. If you don't do things the LEAP way you are told that you do not fit the culture - so much for promoting creativity! A new CEO was appointed 3 months ago, it has been an absolute tornado spiralling since. I am told there have been 3 CEO's in 4 years but god knows where they got this one from. In fact, it is that bad that one could see it as kind of inspiring knowing that apparently anyone (yes anyone) can make CEO at this place! HR is a paper pusher, too busy carrying out all the orders of firing and hiring (not much hiring these days as no one wants to work here). They have let go of so many staff and are cutting costs as they state they are financially not doing well because they are not making sales, then they make announcements of multi million dollar acquisitions and expect us to care or celebrate. Some of us have had friends who have lost there jobs, do you think we care about how all the executives and shareholders are lining their pockets? Do you think we care how everyone above us seem to be getting richer but we are on a measly award wages? Or does free coffee and breakfast cut it for us? Everyone fears of losing their job. Bullying by senior staff seems to be tolerated and being treated like a replaceable nobody is what you can expect on a daily basis. Insecurity is what they love to drive in you. This is why no one speaks up and has to revert to these sites to leave feedback. It is so bad that you start to lose confidence in yourself and you become a robot too scared to be able to think on your own. One does not know what day will be there last day. Sometimes I sit here and wish to be put out of my misery if I did not have rent to pay! BE AWARE that ALL the recently posted positive reviews are fake as the managers and executives have all been posting good reviews to boost their credibility and hope of being able to hire new staff. No one wants to work here. Even the staff that work here don't want to work here. KFC has less chooks than this place.

Ouch. Change management is tough, and decisions have to be made which are sometimes unpopular but are necessary to ensure the longevity of the business. Change makes people uncomfortable, it’s disruptive to the status quo and we’re naturally going to have some fall out based on the new direction we are taking. We’ve made a conscious move to put people into the senior leadership team who have the thorough product knowledge of our software and a strong history with the business. However, without a motivated and empowered staff base, the business can't operate. What concerns me most about this review is that no one should be spending their working life feeling like this. Life is too short. I do urge you to get in touch with your HR Manager for a frank discussion about how we can either make this workplace work for you or to look at options for your future. I'm not talking about being fired for coming forward. I’m talking about owning your career and finding a company which you are going to love and feel excited about coming into every day. It’s up to you.

Toxic company and management

Pros

I met some wonderful people.

Cons

This biggest problem at LEAP is the toxic leadership that all starts from the board level and CEO politics resulting in multiple leadership changes and after that getting rid of staff the previous CEO brought in. The company does not value its employees, it only breaks them down and spits them out. Even the previous CEO was spat out, so no one is safe and staff know that. But karma is a wonderful thing. The number of employee that left the company suffering from mental health issues, anxiety or depression is astounding. It's not a mentally safe workplace. They'll claim LEAP is not for everyone and only high performers need apply. But in reality LEAP is a huge machine that will destroy any confidence you have. They'll dangle carrots to attract you like free breakfast, coffee and boat trips but don't blinded by this. These are simply not worth what you take from your staff. Also I can confirm all the super positive posts on here since May have been because the Chairman told the management team to write them. So don't believe what you read.

I’m all for karma! And believe me, Glassdoor can clock a fake review a mile away. That said, no company is perfect, and we certainly don’t claim to be. It takes more than free coffee and a boat trip to make a workplace feel like somewhere you want to be every day. The new leadership team clearly ruffled some feathers and challenged the old order. I am concerned about claims that we’re not a mentally safe workplace given we ran an employee engagement survey recently, which didn’t highlight any of these issues. Our HR team are wholeheartedly committed to providing the safest workplace with the benefits designed to ensure you retain your sanity in and out of the workplace. I’m sorry that we couldn’t make it work for you, and I wish you all the best in your new position, with a business whose objectives are more closely aligned with yours.
