Pros

People are friendly. Benefits included. Lunch allowance. Dinner available because you'll always work late.

Cons

Computer systems are subpar and antiquated. Consumers forced to fill out ridiculous and obsolete forms. No uniform training or manuals. Billing managers unprofessional, untrustworthy, manipulative, has major ego issues and likes to play "interrogator" in hopes of getting people to unwittingly divulge information to them. Second level management does not communicate with employees in the capacity necessary to make certain that people are properly trained and are being treated fairly. A handful of Non-Korean employees strategically placed throughout. Major EEOC violations take place within this company.

Pros

they pay decent salary for young career professionals, as long as you're Korean, if you are from the U.S., it is a bit more difficult

Cons

This is a S Korean company operating its US branch in Fort Lee, NJ. There is no training, no management, an absolutely no morals; they pride themselves on finding unique ways to deny claims and then joke about it openly in Korean, which makes those of us who do not speak Korean uncomfortable. At one point, I heard what I felt to be a credible rumor that several of the Korean speaking "home office" (employees brought over from Seoul S. Korea) were getting substantial bonuses for successfully denying large claims. The agents who sell LIG products regularly find themselves caught up in lawsuits from angry insured's who have had claims denied and when complaints are made about them, LIG quickly points the blame towards their agents which has led to numerous lawsuits. Management simply doesn't care because they are never around long enough to see the results of their actions. Mediocre level talent is the key for being appointed to upper management and turnover fast and regular. If you want to have a long term career at this company, you will need to be S. Korean. Things I have seen include destroying critical documents, not returning messages, petty arguing internally, "witch hunt" style examinations of current employees, lying to state regulators on just about everything and more. This is a good place to get experience in the field if you have no where else to go, but I wouldn't count on it for long term employment.
