Pros

The people who work at LU are amazing. Empathetic, compassionate, caring.

Cons

- Zero diversity. Don't have these campaigns about diversity and then fail to hire anyone in those demographics. They created an office in Utah which doesn't help further this notion. - The fun culture that made us perform so well as a company is gone. It feels like the core of the CX team as a whole (Success, Support, Implementation) has been burned to the ground, and leadership is constantly trying to change things for the worse. If you have to change things that much, you're the problem. - Healthcare costs in the US have skyrocketed. The poor pay raises (1-2%) are negated by how insanely expensive it is for health insurance. Absolutely zero response from the people ops team on why the company continues to do nothing. - Sales team seems to be unfairly propped up and treated like royalty. The whole team gets flown to Dublin, doesn't perform well, and they do it again. Why not reward those who actually do well?! - They just had layoffs, and many of us were shocked at those who were let go...and those who weren't. It was not handled well. - Pay, especially in the US, is pretty far below the norm at other companies. I've begun looking for other jobs, as my patience is gone.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Our Talent Team aims to find the best Luppers possible who will work together in a friendly and supportive team, so we appreciate your callout on this. In terms of diversity, we aim to have an open and inclusive environment where all Luppers celebrate diversity. As a learning company, we have implemented a DEI program to allow us to share and learn from each other on key issues around diversity and inclusion and we strive to maintain an inclusive environment for all our Luppers. Unfortunately we were one of the many companies who had to implement redundancies earlier this year which were managed in the most sensitive way possible. Even though we had layoffs, we felt it was important to recognise employees this year with promos and salary increases. It was also important for us as a company to gather our Sales org and partner teams for our Sales Kick Off event to communicate LearnUpon’s commercial strategy for FY24. We also hosted a virtual event for our Engineering and Product teams to communicate LearnUpon’s product strategy for FY24, and our first LearnUpon Connect conference in New York to bring our Customers together with our CX team. We hear you on the current health benefits costs and a big focus of the People team is to reevaluate our alternatives. We understand the impact it has had this year, which is why we have also increased our contributions to help offset some of these costs. We're a company that believes in open and constructive feedback, so if you would like to discuss this further or have any other thoughts to share, please email us at peopleops@learnupon.com.

Pros

The staff at LearnUpon were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed coming in to work each day and felt very welcome. They are all hardworking people and I have nothing but words of praise for them.

Cons

The management was dishonest with me from the start. I was forced to interact with customers in a manner that did not suit my personality or style of communication. I faced endless levels of criticism for every part of my performance and was under a lot of pressure and unnecessary stress. In hindsight, I would say that the company is unfortunately much too image conscious for their own good. Management also bullied new employees into singing a song at a company party. If an employee refused to sing a song they were subjected to harassment which was condoned by the management.

Pros

Back in days there was a very warm welcome and enthusiasm. I felt like I hade a second family. Basically friendly people and professional great team members that support you in your job. Not too bad not too good benefits.

Cons

In my opinion, all started to go down the hill with introduction of new VP of engineering. Pressure was immediately felt after shuffling team members around and creating new teams. Culture of LearnUpon is gone. After couple of months, instead of working on planned tasks and projects/features, new things jumped in almost every sprint. The sprint itself and whole Agile lost its purpose. We had a lay off under the excuse of cost. Almost all of the QA people got fired (except one, luckily) and also a couple of Developer. All of the QA job was transferred to us. That being said, it seems that LearnUpon is following big tech path of firing people with more pressure on people that stay, with more tasks and with shorter timelines. Most of Developers are from Serbia, but it seems that majority of people fired are from Serbia. We were not allowed to know who got fired and since we all work from home is was a tense situation. Even more strange is that they fired excellent Senior Developer probably to introduce fear into other Senior Developers that we are also replaceable. Explanation was that they need to cut costs but at the same time, they are posting new jobs for same Developer roles in Ireland where base salary is 3 to 4 times bigger than in Serbia. I still remember CEO crying on a call when he was explaining all the firing of the people. From that moment till now we got a couple of high paying positions. 2 new VPs for departments one Senior Staff Engineer
