Pros

The office is nice and clean. They have nice phones, comfortable chairs, and a fabulous copy machine. Also, parking is ample .

Cons

In my opinion: The office, even when filled with people, is so quiet you can hear a pin drop. Email is sometimes the favored form of communication, even if the person you're communicating with is less than a foot away. Mistakes are not permitted and I seriously question the ethics of the company. Arrogance tends to run high among upper management, and every employee knows where they rank in the rigid company hierarchy. In the rare event that feedback is given, it will be negative. The company feels stagnant and rigid, with little appreciation for any signs of human life. "Professionalism" is valued over honesty and integrity. Also, controversial questions are heavily discouraged.

Can't say one thing positive

Pros

There are some very nice employees that just want to work and support their families.

Cons

I worked in the Tecumseh plant for several years because of location only. The healthy insurance they offer their employees isn't worth the paper it's written on. Seriously a $250 max benefit for prescriptions, $2500 a year for out patient care. I had a minor procedure and still had to pay $6000 out of pocket. In the meantime the pharmacist makes a statement (when he saw my plan) "management has an awesome plan". The people that are in management in that plant are on a major power trip. If you cross the HR manager or the QC manager you are gone even for something minor. Saw it over and over. So many of the management are felons that should be working the floor not having sex with their employees in the building. They do not reward hard work and do not have an environment that is suitable for a parent just trying to make a living and provide benefits for their family. Instead that get people looking for the next paycheck. The type that doesn't care about insurance or doesn't qualify. Not to mention what they did to the community. They promised jobs when they reopened the plant and after the city made investment in the infrastructure to support them and the county allowed all the chicken barns to be built they moved the jobs to Waverly. A management member has a health crisis and they have a fund raiser to help (don't forget they have the "good" insurance) while hourly employees, one after another, are having to file medical bankruptcy. It's a disgrace.

Stabbed in the back

Pros

Beautiful home-office, produces a great product, some good people.

Cons

- Pay was not very good. - Upper management pretends to care about employees: I was repeatedly commended by upper management for being an outstanding employee. One member of upper management in particular, told me one day that he was proud of the work I was doing and if I were to ever think about leaving the company I should give them a heads up because they would do what they could to keep me around. About a month later (after that talk with the one in upper management) I was let go by my direct department manager with the consent and approval of the member of upper management who had been praising me for work well done. Just like that, out of no-where I was stabbed in the back. This was a good an noble company under the former leadership of it's founder, Mark Haskins, as he did honestly care about the employees, however, since it came under the control of lenders who forced the founder into early retirement, you really can't trust the new management. People I worked with would say they felt like they were always having to watch their back, people would get let go all the time and given no reason for the termination except that the employee didn't quite fit the cultural environment. It is sad to be a part of something from so early on and to believe in the product they were producing, doing your best to help them succeed, only to get stabbed in the back later on and told you aren't a good enough fit for the culture of the company, even though you may have been the best at your job, you simply aren't wanted and for reasons that no one really knew what meant except that someone didn't want you there anymore. I think the biggest shock was that all of my prior reviews had been outstanding and indicated no possibility that anything like that would ever happen. Conclusion: Great product, poor ethics on the part of the management.
