I typically don’t do this but because of the poor experience I had with MDMartin, I feel it is important I share with others what happened during my time employment. I was hired in as an onsite manager/recruiter in Hazel Park, MI. Shortly after I began working there, the job description and expectations changed. I was expected to fulfill duties that were outside of my area of expertise, and, later on, told my job would be compromised if I didn’t do what I was told. I was given a pay cut of $15,000 and my company credit card and gas allowance were both taken away. At Christmas, I was gifted an all expense paid, round trip to anywhere in the US for two people- I was thrilled!! I was later told that because the company was shutting down and not doing well, I could no longer redeem this gift. I asked for the cash value of the trip if I could not travel and was denied that as well. I later found out from a colleague of mine that the company had lost its contract with the client I was working with, and they didn’t even tell me to my face. I was astounded to think of how hard I’d worked for this company to only find out I was going to be out of a job soon and they couldn’t even let me know with formal notice. When I contacted my manager, I was told they could neither confirm nor deny whether or my job would end. I then spoke with my HR team who later confirmed they were going to eliminate my position there with the company. I was given only THREE DAYS NOTICE with no severance package. If they did this to me, they’ll do it again. Please do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT work for this company. They have very poor management, only care about making money and care nothing about their employees and how they have to provide for their families.
