The TRUTH about MPAY...

Pros

The company will invest in you for further certifications needed for the job.

Cons

It was the biggest relief once I was laid off... I did the most, I've never had to work soo hard for a company that kept taking more and more from you. I felt like I constantly had to prove that something was done and completed as If I didn't work or do my job. The board needs to replace the CEO and maybe MPAY will become more successful. MPAY is unstable... if you want stability do not work here. you will be better off at a temp agency. Trust me on this!!!

The poster and I agree on the fact that we invest in getting employees educated and certified in their areas of responsibilities and interest. I am very pleased that we have been able to fund the learning experiences and/or allow flexibility in scheduling and workload to make it happen. The rest of the post is somewhat misleading. MPAY has never had a layoff. The poster was either terminated or voluntarily left. The staff at MPAY has embraced the Agile/Scrum process which in turn has led to a higher level of accountability and transparency in all of the departments. The higher level of accountability has tended to expose inefficient or incompetent employees in the workplace because employees have to commit to a plan and deliver results. As far as stability goes, our employees average more than three years of employment with us as I type. That is better than the average company and I feel like it is a great reflection of what we value at MPAY. We ask our employees to have integrity and do the right thing, embrace and drive change, be inquisitive and ask questions, collaborate with each other and take the initiative. Lastly, we ask that they have fun and enjoy what they do. One of the main responsibilities of my job as a CEO is to recruit and retain the best employees. If someone is not working out and there is no chance of them being successful with us, we do terminate them after a review of the situation. We do this for them as much as for the company. It would be wrong to continue to employ someone when they are not going to succeed and grow in their position.

Pros

New challenges every day. you learn a lot. Good hard working people in general.

Cons

Low pay and no opportunity for advancement. Good old boys culture with no respect for women. Everyone who leaves MPAY become enemy 1. All contributions are forgotten and they are bad mouthed and ridiculed from the top.

Thank you for the feedback, but you are simply wrong. We pay 100% of health and insurance premiums for employees AND dependents. We contribute to an HSA account, match 401(k) contributions and pay competitively. Pay and benefits are not low. Half of our directors in the company and all of our managers in Huntersville and Peoria are female. All but one started on the front line and have worked up to management with the exception of one director who came highly qualified from the outside. We have a diverse and very motivated workforce that does cause issues for those with mediocre levels of commitment or skill levels. We wish you well, and I really don't think anyone is talking about you. We are on to much better things.

Pros

Company pays for health care benefits. Most employees are really nice.

Cons

Leadership team (all women) are in management based on their desire to always say Yes, regardless of how it effects those employees who have to do the work. Nice group of ladies, just not effective managers. New scrum process more like hearing kids in the back seat continuously asking "Are we there yet?" No value added but a lot of time being spent. Management contends this is not a micro managing situation. How would you define a work environment where you are required to document what your working on every minute of the day with no management feedback? CEO slams doors and threatens to fire employees whenever he can't get what he wants when he wants it. Strictly punitive approach to employee performance. This is about as close as you can get to the pure definition of hostile work environment. No HR dept means there's no place for employees to go to resolve problems. Management team is responsible for HR functions, so you're screwed if a manager is a part of the problem. Ethicsline reports directly to owners wife so you won't get a fair shake going down that road either. Constant change directly translates to constant confusion since performance expectations also change and the only way you know about it is when you're being told what you didn't do.

I agree with the reviewer that we do have nice people, and would add that they are very dedicated to our vision of providing value and convenience to employers and employees. Our benefits package is one of the best that you find with any employer, let alone one with less than 70 employees. The review is full of inaccuracies, and I am not going to post all the corrections or make excuses. What I will say is that we hire the best person for the job. We hire regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, religion, or country of origin. We are a small company where all of management hires and coaches their employees. We do have a hotline that employees can call and submit issues with or without identifying them. The hotline contacts two totally independent directors, not my wife. In the end, scrum is the method of operating at MPAY. If the reader does not like scrum or doesn't have the ability to constructively engage, MPAY is not a good fit for you.
