Thank you for taking the time to review Maddox Events. I do believe that you have reviewed the wrong organisation as we do not have any System Administrators at Maddox Events and we do not operate in India.

Pros

The amount of emotional trauma you'll go through will make you a stronger person when you choose to move to your next job or are forced to when they fire you for no reason.

Cons

Avoid at all costs. This company will take everything you have, time, energy, sense of worth... The list goes on. Having stepped away from the company a few months ago, I was willing the management team to turn things around and have been holding off from writing this. After hearing about what has happened this week to their employees, clearly things are only getting worse. If you are asked to interview here, please don't go. Don't be swayed by the positive reviews, they are written by management/people who they have coerced to write for them.

Thank you for your review. It is disappointing to hear that Maddox Events is not for you. The organisation that you describe in your review is not one that I and many others recognise. I have just compiled the 2020 employee satisfaction survey which found that the overall satisfaction rate of our employees is 87%. This is far higher than the average organisation in the UK. In your review, you also state 'after hearing about'. I am afraid I am not in a position to comment on speculation on a public forum. May I wish you the best for the future.

Pros

Decent pay, if you don't mind a lack of basic benefits (sick pay, maternity pay). In theory they say you can have unlimited (unpaid) holiday after 20 days (a week is included at Christmas plus bank holidays). Sounds good but it actually works out as less than average workplaces in the UK.

Cons

This is by far the worst company I have ever worked in or even come across. Absolutely no concept of how to think long term. No duty of care for employees. High churn rate. No sick pay or maternity cover, despite the fact this company advises other companies on how to achieve equality in their workforce. A lack of flexibility in working practices (internal obsession with "processes" to the detriment of innovation). Complete lack of professionalism from senior management team (CEO routinely shouts at people and bullies them). Constant restructures and reshuffles. Chaotic working style - people often instructed to research and build events (and invite speakers), which are then more often than not cancelled. No professional development (not sure anyone stays long enough to need it to be honest). Lip service paid to the importance of staff to business, when in reality, company is quick to fire people who disagree. Very toxic environment where staff often call each other names. Honestly, the allure of the money was strong, but the best thing I ever did for my career and my sanity was to leave this place.

Thank you for the feedback. I am glad to see that you have mentioned the decent salaries on offer here at Maddox Events. We regularly benchmark to ensure that we offer the most competitive salaries possible. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy our employee benefits. In our recent employee survey 79% of employees were satisfied with the benefits on offer. You mention that the organisation does not pay sick pay or maternity pay. This is not an accurate reflection as we do offer enhanced company sick pay and we also offer maternity pay. In regards to annual leave we offer a generous amount of time off which is higher than the UK national average. Our employees enjoy having the extra time off during the festive period to spend with their loved ones. It is disappointing that you mention that there is a lack of flexibility in working practices despite the organisation allowing employees to work from home every Friday and having a flexible working policy. Maddox Events is the fastest growing events company in the UK with triple digit year on year growth, if the organisation had no concept of how to think long term then this growth would not be possible. Referring back to our staff satisfaction survey the vast majority of employees would recommend Maddox Events as a great place to work. I regret that you did not enjoy your time with us and wish you well for the future.
