Pros

The manager can be very understanding if you have a family emergency or problem. She will give you the time you need to sort yourself and your life out. The clinical nurse manager is amazing she goes above and beyond to help you and is always there for you if you need something. She really is an asset to the company. You get the day off for you birthday!

Cons

Every member of staff who resigned including myself have left because of how they were treated by the manager. Nothing is private... The manager will openly discuss employees personal information in the office. There has also been occasions where she as discussed personal HR matters in the office for everyone to hear. (She loves to gossip) Favouritism, is a massive problem. All employees aren’t treated the same. Micro management is the main reason people leave. The manager can be on your case that much employees can feel like they can’t do anything right, making them stop trying.

Pros

Friendly colleagues across all offices You get your birthday off CEO very friendly Christmas party for the whole company, good chance to meet other offices The CNM in Birmingham is the most wonderful lady you'll ever meet! So kind, supportive and genuinely cares about you. She works so hard and is fantastic at her job, but still makes time for you. Opportunity to go to recruitment open days in other cities and meet candidates Incentives for the nursing staff, such as winning prizes for working the most hours and referral bonuses The interview and recruitment process are very relaxed, which puts you at ease Starting salary fairly decent, regular increases and bonuses.

Cons

The Birmingham office got too big, too quickly, and unfortunately the pleasant atmosphere disappeared with it. If you aren't friends with or related to the office manager, you have no chance. It's very clique-y. You will be managed out. There are clear favourites, and if you aren't one of them, you'll be moved around, not supported, and your work will be scrutinised. If you have a personal issue and speak to the manager, all of her clique will know about it. People are 'promoted' to team seniors/leaders but not allowed to lead their team. The manager will have a go at you for holding meetings with your team or trying to bring new ideas. Very high staff turnover and teams/desks taken off you and swapped around regularly. Your clothing and appearance is scrutinised, the manager and her clique will b*tch about what people are wearing, what their hair looks like, if they have bad teeth etc. as soon as their back is turned. Why does that matter as long as someone is good at their job?! If you hand in your notice, your life will be made a misery during your notice period. Longer than average working days

Pros

1) The majority of colleagues were decent people. 2) Dress-down Fridays and occasionally, Wednesdays and Thursdays. 3) Get your birthday day off work.

Cons

1) Micro-management - detailed daily reports and triplicating records of completed tasks. 2) Blatant favouritism - one rule for one person, a completely different rule for another (dependant upon personal relationships with senior staff and individual performance against KPIs) - results in certain individuals getting away with playing on their mobile phones, clothes shopping and watching LoveIsland during work hours on work computers. 3) Unprofessionalism - private phone calls being taken in full view of the office. 4) Ban on leaving cards and gifts - certain individuals take resignations very personally, therefore, the purchase of leaving cards and gifts for leavers is strictly banned due to them "sending out the wrong message"... 5) Lack of communication, synergy and consistency between the HQ in London and the Birmingham office, therefore, causing delays in business processes and frustration amongst staff as well as candidates.
