Pros

....well a few of the coworkers are cool and willing to teach you/show you the ropes. And the benefits are pretty good, health care plan and 401k matching. But that doesn't outweigh the negatives even a little.

Cons

Where to start?! If you don't think there is a problem here then you are probably part of the problem or clueless, and the positive reviews are either fake or made by those ppl. Nothing they do makes sense, like who doesn't have all their methods/SOPs written up in one place?! Why is there no LIMS?! This is exactly the business LIMS was designed for! Information is so hard to find you end up doing duplicate work only to be told someone else answered the question. Their entire business model was designed around when only a few ppl worked there and it has never grown up. The customer service department act like project managers, but don't have the skills or resources to actually do it, so they just run around asking (nagging) when chemist will be done with their work and report back to the owner. There are no actual managers, that can organize departments or answer questions, you have to go through the owner who is always busy or not in the office. She micro-managers everything instead of appointing knowledgeable, competent ppl in charge that can organize, distribute workload, be there to answer questions, etc. Either doesn't tell you when mistakes are made or belittles you for making them. The owner WILL talk about you behind your back, including telling co-workers protected medical statuses, she has no concept of professionalism and will complain about customers, which customers have paid their bills, coworkers and current events to anyone that walks into her office. Most of the employees act like it's high school and if you aren't in the quiche they will openly talk about you and treat you kinda crappy. They will throw you under the bus to the owner, other coworkers and even customers. There is no HR, so you can't actually get anything resolved you have to either go to the owner and potentially be belittled either to your face or behind your back, or just sick it up. There is no room for advancement and even if you are willing, you probably won't be given new opportunities or taught new things. Whatever the owner said to get you in there, it isn't true and will not come to pass. You have all the opportunity in the work for overtime, since the workload is not balanced and most ppl are crushed under the amount they have to do. "Are you coming in Saturday?" Is a typical question, it might as well be that you work 6 days a week. And now with COVID-19, the owners response is to tell everyone to wear a mask and put up signs that if your stuck stay home, but doesn't even prevent sick employees from coming in on the first place. There is no attempt at social distancing, she hasn't put ppl on shifts to decrease the density of co-workers. If someone gets sick it will rip through this place easily. Thanks for caring about your staff!

Pros

The best part about this workplace is that it is dependable. You can always count on Micro Quality Labs to not respect you as an employee, let alone as a person. However, there is room for upward mobility-- if you will allow yourself to stoop as low as most employees and throw others under the bus when the opportunity presents itself because in this workplace, you move up if you are a management favorite. Schooling and experience mean nothing here, which is probably why they have a person with an associates degree running half of HR, payroll and scheduling. You can go to sleep at night certain and confident that if you present yourself as ostentatious as possible and can dazzle management with bright lights and shiny words, you will be loved here.

Cons

I can't think of a single 'con' for this establishment. Honestly. If you lower your standards to the point where you cry yourself to bed every night for having to succumb to work in a place like this, there isn't really a 'con'. Everyone is as happy as a clam here! At least when upper management walks by. Because in a place like this, most employees are scared to talk about how they feel without fear of termination. Since there isn't an 'actual' HR here with an unbiased favor or opinion, the majority of employees feel skeptical about any sort of honesty because, as the history of events have proven, speaking up results in termination or being reprimanded.

Pros

Basic entry level job, female led business

Cons

* No HR * No managers, supervisors to maintain professional standards and conduct in teams. * Workplace owners and upper level teams completely out of touch with industry standards. * Pay levels well below industry standards and assertions regarding your salary made during interviews will not be fulfilled. * Business owner creates a toxic and abusive work place environment by paranoid spying on workers via surveillance cameras, demands staff “dock” their cell phones throughout the day, and uses her husband as a workplace bully to further spy on and intimidate staff. The owner frequently gaslights staff into believing such workplace conditions are “normal” whilst spending the majority of the workday out of the office, and is therefore never present to take frustrated clients calls, and further frustrating all of her staff who rely on her as the only trained manager/supervisor/person in charge to fulfill their work duties. * Highest turnover rate of staff I’ve ever witnessed in an organization. Staff suffer in silence and it’s not abnormal for staff here to walk out the door and not return from lunch breaks and never be heard from again, which unfortunately speaks volumes. * Due to no HR, no manager presence, staff spend 80% of work hours resorting to high school cliques and further create a toxic working environment whereby staff members cannot be left to work independently and autonomously without encountering further workplace bullying from colleagues such as favoritism/ostracism, non workplace related conversations and a culture of talking negatively about other colleagues behind their backs all day long (hence all the other reviewers experiences of workplace yo-yo patterns of favoritism/ostracism in every department) * To sum, it’s not a professional workplace. It’s a juvenile working environment where you can expect a quick entry level job at best. To be forewarned is to be best prepared, it serves as a temporary job, make sure you know your worth and know when the time gets tough, that there are better jobs out there, and when the time comes to leave, don’t look back.
